Entry: The Cycle of Haircuts Monday, March 07, 2005

I'm not sure how it happened but it just did!  All of the kids end up needing a haircut at the same time.  One time Steve and I got brave and all took the kids to Supercuts for haircuts.  Usually that does not happen.  I usually take Spencer or Steve takes Spencer.  He is the most difficult one for haircuts.

Spencer absolutely hates having his haircut.   He dislikes haircuts so much that it is often very difficult to have his haircut properly.  He squirms and cries.  Either I have to sit in the chair or put him on my lap.  It's a big ordeal.  So, last week when I was off on Friday I took Spencer for his haircut (the 25th).  We got a really sweet girl at the Supercuts in Alhambra named Jennifer.  She showed me a picture of her daughter who was in a hair styles magazine.

Next to have haircuts were Matthew and Sean on the 26th of February.  That was super easy.  In fact, Stephanie, Spencer and I went to the grocery store while Sean and Matthew went to Supercuts.  They actually had the same girl Jennifer.  She is so patient and sweet.  My dad got kind of mad because he wanted to know who left Sean's hair sticking up in the back!  I thought it looked o.k., but he's right.  I've had to gel it down a little in the back since it's sticking up!  Matthew also had a great cut.  He doesn't shave his hair or anything.  Just a regular hair cut.

I got my hair cut on Thursday (3/3).  I go to a local place in Alhambra.  I found a great stylist after a few hits and misses.  He is in the same salon as the lady I go with to get my nails done, her name is Sandy, lol.

The last one to get her hair cut was Stephanie!  Poor thing. I told her I was going to take her on Friday, but I had to attend a funeral on Friday afternoon.  My friend Susan's sister passed away at a very young age.  I had never met Irene but I almost felt like I knew her from everything Susan told me about her and her daughters.  The eulogies were incredible.  I really felt like I knew her after the funeral.  I've been thinking about that all weekend.  Anyhow, Stephanie just needed a bang trim.  Her hair is so beautiful and long, and we're letting it grow as long as possible!

I won't need another haircut for several months, but I'm sure the cycle of haircuts for the kids will begin again soon.  I wonder if I'll get brave and take them all the same day again?!?
