Have a Great April Everyone
Mommy's been so busy. I'm trying to migrate all the pages from our old webs at homestead over to the segurafamily.com domain. Needless to say it's a slow process!
I worked on three of Sean's pages tonight. Remember, they are from our old web so they will seem like a blast from the past.
Everyone is doing great. Last week all the kids except Spencer were on Easter vacation. Grandma and Grandpa took great care of them and it was pretty hard getting them back to school.
I tried to stay up all last night and watch the Pope's funeral. I fell asleep so I watched the rest of it today. Absolutely amazing. I was entranced watching the entire mass and especially moved by the prayer by the Eastern Churches. I still don't know who all those people were but that was truly amazing. It made things more real because I was actually there at one point in my life. I could just picture being there, and I wish that I was.

There are two birthday parties this weekend. One is for Ariana (Humberto, Spencer's godfather's daughter's) fourth birthday. On Sunday is a school mass at St. Therese and Stephanie will attend an ice skating birthday party for her school friend Jenna.
Spencer's first day of school went off without a hitch. Click here to see all of the pictures. We all got up early and Steve took Matthew over to his carpool and went to work. Sean, Spencer and Stephanie were all so excited about Spencer's first day of school that they all got up early and got dressed right away. Actually, Spencer was the first one dressed. As soon as he was dressed, he ran to Stephanie's room to play on the computer while the other kids were getting dressed. He is a computer fanatic. He plays on hotwheels.com and noggin.com. It's amazing. He turns on the computer, brings up the browser and goes to the bookmarked web pages. He gets all excited and says, "I did it, I did it!" when he wins a game.
All the kids ate breakfast and brushed their teeth. Then I wanted to take some pictures and Spencer absolutely refused. This is his usual though. He hates having his picture taken. Anyhow, we made it out of the house around 8:10 and dropped Stephanie off at school first. Next I dropped off Sean. He goes to a different preschool than Spencer so Spencer was a little mad that he didn't get to stay. I had to whisk him off and tell him that we still had to go to his preschool. It was just a few minutes drive away and when we arrived Spencer was very excited.
We arrived around 8:30 a.m. We walked in the classroom and his teachers right away said, "Spencer!" Some children were still eating breakfast and others were playing with toys. Since Sean previously went to this preschool they all started commenting how much Spencer and Sean resembled each other. They kissed Spencer and hugged him and right away he was relaxed. He didn't cry or run away. He started playing right away. He went to the kitchen area first and played with blocks there for several minutes. He played with another boy for a few minutes then tried to play with some girls. They said, "get away!" Spencer was not deterred, he played with them anyway. He was really relaxed and allowed me to take several pictures of him. I was so happy because he didn't let me take any before we left.
Around 9:00, the children go outside for free-play. I stayed there in the playground (keeping my distance) and let Spencer enjoy himself and play. He was so happy. I was happy for him too. He needed to be with other children and interact and have fun all day. We are so grateful to grandma and grandpa for taking care of the kids all day long for such a long time. Now they get a break. They won't have to come to the house until the late afternoon when Stephanie gets out of school. I will arrive home with the boys around 5:30 to 5:45.
I was so happy Spencer didn't cry, he had a great day, it was probably me who was more on the verge of crying. LOL.
More news tomorrow!
Welcome to the first entry in the Segura family blog. Today mom prepared for Spencer's first day of preschool. It's hard to believe, but our little Spencer will begin preschool tomorrow at the Alhambra True Light Christian Preschool. Sean attended preschool there last year before he went to Montessori. We all think Spencer is so small, but it's hard to believe he is actually going to be three years old in a month and a half. It's incredible how fast they grow.
